To celebrate the company’s impressive history in the motorsport, Lotus has revealed a new special edition sports car dubbed as the 2018 Lotus Elise Cup 260.

The 2018 Lotus Elise Cup 260 boasts a phenomenal aero package which is inspired by the Evora GT 430 and features louvered front wheel arches and a huge rear-wing. This combined with a redesigned front-splitter and a rear-diffuser helps in generating 180 kg of downforce at a speed of up to 243 km/h.

Thanks to the use of carbon-fiber and the polycarbonate backlight glass, the 2018 Lotus Elise Cup 260 is also 150 kg lighter than the Elise Cup 250.

Under the hood, the 2018 Elise Cup 260 carries the same supercharged four-cylinder engine as the Elise 250. Surprisingly, the powertrain remains the same, which is 250 bhp and 188 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission allowing the Elise 260 to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

The Elise Cup 260 is covered in a sexy Championship Gold paint to commemorate the company’s upcoming 70th anniversary. Only 30 examples of the sports car will be built but none of them will be offered in the U.S.

We cannot confirm at the moment whether it will be offered in the GCC markets or not.
