The British automaker on Wednesday announced that they are working on a new road car, which will arrive sometime next year. Surprisingly, it will be the most-extreme hypercar launched by the automaker so far.

McLaren has not announced any name for the car, but inside reports suggest it is codenamed ‘P15’. McLaren is also working on a three-seat hybrid hypercar codenamed ‘BP23’.

The only detail McLaren has revealed is a teaser image of what seems to be the exhaust setup of the car. It should be noted that most of the McLaren vehicles feature single or dual-exhaust pipes located in the center, whereas the teaser image shows the new hypercar has three-exhaust pipes located at the base of the engine cover.

Talking about design, McLaren described it as ‘brutal’. No information has been disclosed regarding the powertrain, however, rumors suggest the new hypercar might carry a 4.0-liter V-8 engine found in the 720S. The powertrain will be heavily upgraded to deliver an output greater than 710 horsepower.

On the inside, we can expect motor-sport inspired seats and other performance equipment. Also, the new McLaren hypercar will definitely be a limited edition model with a hefty price tag.
