Most of the hypercar cars of today such as McLaren F1, Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador and Ferrari LaFerrari are hailed from Europe. Surprisingly, this is the first time we heard about a hypercar launching from Canada. Dubbed as Anibal Icon, the hypercar by the Canadian startup, ‘Anibal Automotive’ makes big claims and promises 920 horsepower.
The Anibal Icon will be based on the Porsche 911 Turbo S and will use its chassis and 3.8-liter twin-turbo charged six-cylinder engine. Thanks to the heavy use of carbon-fiber, the overall weight of the car will be 3,400 pounds. Moreover, the body will also include active dampening, four-wheel steering, and carbon-ceramic brakes.
The images released by Anibal show that the Icon hypercar features taillights similar to the Porsche 911, while the gullwing doors and pontoon fenders are also there. Besides the taillights, no other exterior component resembles the 911.
The automaker claims the Anibal Icon will be capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.4 seconds. Only 50 examples of the Anibal Icon will be built for motorists worldwide, and 5 additional units will be launched as ‘Drastic Edition’. Details regarding the price have not been disclosed yet.
