Daihatsu may be a brand which many people are not familiar with, but the automaker is making the mark now by introducing impressive concept cars. Scheduled to debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show is the new Daihatsu DN Compagno concept, which takes inspiration from the original Compagno car from 1960.

The Daihatsu DN Compagno concept boasts a narrow chrome grille on the front, panoramic roof, 360-degree cameras instead of the side mirrors and sharp character lines stretching all the way from the front to the rear. The tail lights look similar to the ones found in the Cadillac XTS sedan.

On the inside, the DN Compagno concept features a futuristic design with seating capacity for two individuals. In the center of the front dash are two display screens; the top one is for navigation, while the screen below has controls for air conditioning system. The black and red color combination, definitely adds a retro feel to the interior.

Powering the Daihatsu DN Compagno is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine, but the automaker has mentioned that a 1.2-liter hybrid powertrain can also be chosen.

More details regarding the DN Compagno and other Daihatsu concepts will be unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.
