Ford has recently introduced the new 2018 Mustang GT with a revised 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine delivering 460 horsepower, which makes it more powerful than (by just 5 horsepower) the Chevrolet Camarro SS. Now, reports indicate that a new Ford Mustang GT Performance Package is arriving soon with some more enhancements.

The news was revealed by Mustang6G forums which disclosed that Ford is working on a ‘Level 2’ performance package which will most likely include an improved suspension system, large Brembo brakes, a huge radiator, 19-inch darkened wheels, and more.

With the launch of the new Ford Mustang GT Performance Package, the automaker will target the new Camaro SS 1LE.

A dealer ordering guide posted on Mustang6G a few months back also stated that the Level 2 performance package will only be offered in the GT Coupe models with a manual-transmission. It might be available sometime in December.

The aftermarket supplier CJ Pony Parts also posted a picture of the 2018 Mustang GT about two weeks ago with the performance package level 2. The Mustang GT can be seen equipped with the Michelin’s track-ready Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in the photos.

Ford is yet to officially reveal information regarding the package.
