The 2019 Jeep Yuntu was first displayed in concept form at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show and now the latest spy shots confirm that the three-row SUV might hit the roads soon.
In terms of design, the spied mule seems to closely resemble the 2019 Jeep Yuntu concept with almost an identical front fascia. However, there are some differences too; for example, the spied mule has a higher ride, larger tailgate, and a wider C-pillar compared to the Jeep Yuntu concept. The taillights on the prototype model are also not similar to the concept.
The interior couldn’t be captured, but if we assume it same as the concept, it would have a large LCD display spanning the whole front dash and an additional display screen for each back seat.
The powertrain specifications are currently unknown, but during the Shanghai Auto Show, the automaker mentioned that it will carry a hybrid system, while reports indicate the Yuntu won’t be a hardcore off-roader SUV. On the other hand, the Jeep Wagoneer SUV is also under development, and since it will be based on the Ram 1500, the Wagoneer will boast off-roading capabilities.
It is highly unlikely to see the 2019 Jeep Yuntu being sold out of China.
