The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution has been discontinued, but the nameplate still lives in the form of Mitsubishi e-Volution Concept, which is scheduled to debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. However, unlike the Lancer Evolution which was a sports car, the e-Volution will be an all-electric SUV.
Talking about the e-Volution, Mitsubishi officials revealed that the all-electric SUV will use ‘high torque and high-performance’ electric motors along with a high-capacity battery system. Besides powerful electric motors, the Mitsubishi e-Volution will also feature a dual-motor active yaw control (AYC) system.
The e-Volution will also boast a highly advanced artificial intelligence assistance system. The system will be capable of learning the driver’s behavior and will help in improving the performance as well as safety. Moreover, the AI system will provide assistance to the driver through voice dialogs. The driver could control certain functions on the car such as headlights and wiper blades via voice commands too.
We are currently not sure if the Mitsubishi e-Volution concept will go for production, but it will surely demonstrate what the automaker has in store for the future. More details will be uncovered on October 25th as the e-Volution concept makes its official debut.
