The next-gen 2019 Audi A7 is scheduled to make an appearance later this year, but thanks to Autoweek.nl, we have just received pictures of a scale model, which reveals some design cues of the new A7.
In terms of design, the 2019 Audi A7 seems to resemble the Audi Prologue concept, which was displayed by the automaker in the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. The front fascia sporting a large hexagonal grille seems similar to the new A8 Saloon. The rear-profile is not visible, but reports suggest the taillights will be inspired from the 2019 A8 as well. The slanted roofline might reduce the boot space. The automaker will surely make changes in the interior as well and add some new and improved technologies.
Besides upgraded styling cues, we also expect the 2019 Audi A7 to be more light-weight than the current A7 in the market. Underpinning the A7 will most probably be the Volkswagen MLB platform, which also supports electric powertrains.
The powertrain options might include a robust V6 and a V8 in both petrol and diesel configurations. Also, a plug-in hybrid variant will be added to the lineup.
The debut date of the 2019 Audi A7 has not been announced yet.
