A psychological and linguistic tests manual has been recently introduced by the Roads and Transport Authority applicable for drivers involved in passenger transport. This manual will be given to driving organizations conducting driver’s psychological and linguistics tests. It is a part of series of initiatives taken by Dubai government to ensure road safety for the citizens.

Abdul Ebrahim Al Meer, director of Drivers Affairs commented, “The introduction of this manual is part of the RTA’s efforts to chart out standards for qualifying institutes providing training to passenger transport drivers as well as others interested in contracting with the RTA in this regard in future.”

The manual is applicable as of October 1, 2017. “Clearing those tests is part of the requirements for registration in the basic programmes provided by Drivers Affairs Department. The specifications provided for in the manual shall be adhered to as of October 1, 2017 to refine drivers’ selection process and align it with the RTA’s third strategy (People’s Happiness),” Ebrahim told.

Dubai authorities have also doubled the lesson time for under training drivers to impart better driving skills to the trainees. As told by officials, psychological and linguistics tests manual is intended to inculcate improved customer satisfaction and road safety.
