An Asian driver set ablaze was rescued by a brave woman who used her abaya to put out the fire. The fire broke out as a result of a collision between two trucks. The man was an Indian driver, Harkirit Singh, whereas the RAK woman was identified as an Emirati from Ajman named Jawaher Saif Al Kumaiti.
The woman quietly left the scene when police arrived. This accident happened on the Martyrs road where the victim managed to exit the cockpit, but his clothes caught fire, and was rescued by RAK police in time.
The RAK woman in an interview with Gulf News said that “He was lying down. He was on fire… I took out my friend’s abaya and left the car. I went to cover the guy because there was no cloth on him. He was looking at me and he said, ‘I’m dying. I’m afraid to die.” She also told that she tried to calm him down.
This Emirati woman has won hearts of many and is being dubbed as a heroine of Ras Al Khaimah. She was identified after Major Al Shahan posted an exclusive video on his Instagram account asking about Kumaiti’s whereabouts.
