Dubai authorities are taking drastic measures to ensure road safety of their citizens. For this purpose they have installed high-tech speed radars to catch the irresponsible drivers. However, UAE Ministry of Interior (MOI) has recently also launched a campaign aimed at reducing the number of fatalities caused by the negligence of swerving motorists.

This campaign was announced on Ministry of Interior’s Twitter account where they have also uploaded an animated video that shows a hand putting a swerving vehicle back on the right lane. If you have something to say about it, post with the hashtag #come_on.
The MOI’s objective here is to spread awareness about the dangers of sudden swerving. According to General Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of Traffic Co-ordination at The Ministry of Interior, 63 people were killed due to the carelessness of swerving motorists during the past six months.
While 315 people died in road accidents up till July this year, dedication of Police and strict policies have resulted in 15.9% drop in the road incidents as compared to last year. Swerving is a serious crime that could cost you Dh1,000, so make sure you do not change lane without indication.
