Saudi women may be able to drive soon, according to a ruling issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, on Tuesday.
The Custodian directed to establish a ministerial body for guidance on the matter within a month. If approved, the new rule will be implemented by 2018.
“The royal decree will implement the provisions of traffic regulations, including the issuance of driving licenses for men and women alike,” the Saudi Press Agency said.
