This year at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show held in March, the German automaker displayed the new Mercedes-AMG GT4 sedan in concept form. The debut of the production model was expected at the 2018 North American International Auto Show. However, now sources have confirmed that the GT sedan will make its official debut at 2018 Geneva Motor Show, beginning March 8 next year.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Sedan will be based on the C and E-Class. The concept was powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 engine paired with a powerful electric motor. This hybrid system offered a total of 805 horsepower allowing the sedan to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds.
The codename for the Mercedes-AMG GT4 Sedan is X290, and it is not confirmed right now if the automaker will keep the ‘GT4’ nameplate.
A prototype has also been spotted testing somewhere in Europe featuring a unique fastback design, quad-exhaust tips at the back and a muscular body kit. The wheelbase seems to have been stretched to accommodate extra pair of doors.
Information regarding performance and pricing will be revealed near the debut date.
