The 2018 Acura MDX has been upgraded for the 2017 model year, and with a host of new updates, the automaker has also increased the price by $150. The new 2018 MDX base model now starts from $45,175, while the all-wheel drive variant is priced at $47,175.
Talking about the changes, the 2018 Acura MDX now boasts a new seven-inch capacitive touchscreen with dual-screen user interface and redesigned menu and controls. The capacitive touch display offers 30-percent quicker response time compared to the resistive touchscreen found in the previous model. The infotainment display also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Powering the 2018 Acura MDX is the same 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine found in the 2017 model. The V6 unit is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission delivering 290 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft of torque. The hybrid model is fitted with three electric motors and churns out an extra 31horsepower and 22 lb.-ft of torque.
The standard safety features will include adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, forward collision warning, road departure mitigation, collision mitigation braking system and lane keep assist.
It arrived at the dealerships in the U.S. on 20th September. However, we cannot confirm at the moment when it will make its way to the Middle Eastern market.
