The 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe made its official debut last year at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and arrived in the Middle East in March this year. During the debut ceremony, Infiniti promised that the new Coupe will be lower, wider, more powerful and much more efficient compared to the previous Q60. We recently got a chance to test drive the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe 3.0T Red Sport 400 and below are our findings.

Our 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe Review

Walk Around

As you can see, the 2017 Infiniti Q60 coupe boasts an athletic persona, thanks to the large 19-inch alloy wheels, sculpted bumpers, a double arch grille and stylish eye-inspired LED headlights. The low profile not just adds to the sporty personality, but improves Q60’s stability as well.

Moreover, the design is aerodynamically efficient featuring an Active Grille Shutter, which stays closed at low speeds but opens up if additional cooling is required.

Interior Design

Enter inside and you find the cabin beautifully crafted with high-quality materials, which are visually appealing and add a touch of opulence. The exclusive Sport Seat design ensures maximum comfort on long journeys, while the leather covered steering wheel provides an excellent grip. The front dash boasts a large center display with a navigation system and an impressive sound system, which we will discuss later.

The cargo space measures 12.1 cubic feet, which is not too large compared to its competitors like BMW 4-Series coupe (15.7 cubic feet). However, the rear seats can be folded to store more items.

Powertrain

The 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe is offered with only one engine option:

  • A 3.0-liter V6 direct-injection system delivering 400 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque

The engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission system.

Driving Dynamics

In terms of performance, the 2017 Infiniti Q60 coupe is truly remarkable. The 400 horsepower V5 engine delivers intense power, while the digitally adaptive handling system ensures phenomenal handling and maneuvering. The Direct Adaptive Steering digitally processes your movements for precise steering response, thereby improving the overall drivability.

There is a choice of different driving modes including Standard, Snow, ECO, Sport, Sport+ and Personal. We started our test drive with Standard mode on and noticed a stable and smooth performance. The ECO mode is for maximum efficiency, as the acceleration is considerably slower to ensure better fuel economy. The Sport and Sport+ mode tunes the steering, throttle response and suspension system for max performance. We were able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds and touched 250 km/h top speed.

The 2017 Infiniti Q60 coupe consumed around 13.0 liter to cover 100 kilometers distance during our test drive.

Technological Equipment

The 2017 Infiniti Q60 coupe incorporates state-of-the-art comfort and convenience features including dual-zone adaptive climate control, Infiniti Intuition digital environment, 12V power outlets, i-Key with smart access, rear-view camera, push-button ignition and more. It also encompasses high-end entertainment facilities such as an 8-inch LCD display, 6-speaker surround system with Bluetooth connectivity and voice-recognition.

Safety Features

Besides convenience and entertainment amenities, the 2017 Infiniti coupe also renders advance safety facilities such as 4-wheel ABS, electronic brake distribution, traction control, vehicle dynamic control, hill start assist, 6-airbag system, tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, brake assist and more.

Dislike

The only drawback of the Infiniti Q60 coupe is the cargo capacity of 12.1 cubic feet that is comparatively lesser than its rivals.
