If you are using Dubai Police smart application, you can now report vehicles obstructing traffic at a parking lot. Brigadier-General Khalid Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razzouqi, director-general of smart services at the Dubai Police, introduced this service and said, “Dubai Police smart application users can enter the vehicle number plate which obstructs traffic at parking lots and the Dubai Police will inform the owner of the vehicle through a text message to remove the vehicle.” As soon as the owner obstructing traffic at the parking lot gets the message, he/she needs to act fast and remove the vehicle, otherwise, a violation will be recorded.
Brig-Gen Al Razzouqi also told the service is introduced to increase awareness among motorists who do not care about the time of others. This SMS service will also ease the burden on the operations room that receives lots of calls every day regarding such issues.

Dubai Police smartphone application users are increasing day by day, which makes this service a possible time-saver. Currently, 2.35million users have downloaded the application (1.47million on iOS and 875,129 on Android)

“The number of transactions completed on smartphones by the end of 2016 was 415,276 compared to 339,227 transactions in 2015. The smart facility achieved a savings and financial surplus of Dh57.8 million for the Dubai Police compared to 34.6 million dirhams in the previous year.”
