The new 2018 Renault Megane RS hot hatch has been officially unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with new upgrades and a powerful powertrain. The automaker released a teaser of it in the first quarter of this year.

The overall body proportions have been increased for a much sportier persona with the front extended by 60mm while the rear is now 45mm longer compared to the standard model. A Formula-one inspired front blade combined with chequered flag LED lights renders an aggressive look. While at the back, the central exhaust tips and the large air diffuser further enhance the Megane RS character. The 18-inch alloy wheels are standard, whereas larger 19-inch alloys are available as well. Along with a number of color options, a new fine ‘Tonic Orange’ paint has been added too.

On the inside, the 2018 Renault Megane RS boasts performance bucket seats covered in Alcantara or carbon fiber material. The regular plastic pedals have been replaced by aluminum ones, while the center stack features an 8.7-inch display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Powering the 2018 Renault Megane RS is a 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine delivering 275 horsepower and 287 lb.-ft of torque. The automaker will introduce a special ‘Trophy Edition’ as well with 296 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque.

The new Megane RS is expected to go on sale in spring 2018 with a price tag of £30,000 (approximately 39,815 US Dollar).
