The legendary British manufacturer of high-end sports cars, TVR has finally raised the curtains off its new sports car dubbed as the TVR Griffith at the 2017 Goodwood Festival. Talking about the car, the TVR boss Les Edgar, titled the new Griffith as ‘British muscle car’ and stated it offers an unmatched level of sophistication, comfort and practicality.
In terms of size, the TVR Griffith measures almost the same as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage with an overall length of 4,314 mm and width of 1,850 mm. The body is made from a carbon composite structure that keeps the weight low at about 1,250 kilograms. Moreover, with the engine installed behind the front axle, the TVR Griffith has an ideal 50:50 weight distribution.
The stylish exterior features a rear wing and a front splitter that not only enhance the look of the car but improve the aerodynamics as well.
Under the hood, the TVR Griffith carries a powerful 5.0L naturally aspirated V8 engine built by Cosworth. It develops 500 bhp and allows it to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph.
The automaker will build first 500 units as special edition models, and each example will cost around $117,285. Deliveries will begin in 2019.
