Just a week back, we shared the news regarding Jaguar planning to electrify its lineup by the end of the decade and now Ford’s Lincoln luxury brand has announced similar plans as well. Reuter reports Lincoln brand will launch a hybrid gasoline-electric version of all its models by 2022.

The automaker is also considering to introduce an all-new fully electric model sometime soon. The electrification will immensely help the brand in China, who is now planning to end the production and sales of traditional gasoline powered cars. No specific date has been announced, but the government is pressuring automakers to invest more toward electric vehicles. Besides China, Britain and France have also decided to put a stop to the sales of gasoline and diesel vehicles by 2040.

Ford is already working toward developing a number of electric-powered vehicles and most probably will launch hybrid versions of some of the popular sports cars including the Ford Mustang and the F-150.

On the other hand, Lincoln is likely to launch a hybrid version of the MKC crossover and the Aviator crossover. The new Lincoln Navigator SUV is going on sale this year while its hybrid variant will arrive sometime in 2019.

More details about Lincoln electrification plans will be revealed in the coming months.
