A few days back, the Bavarian automaker released a teaser video of the 2018 BMW M5 and although we already knew quite a few details about the luxury sedan, BMW has disclosed everything you need to know.
The sixth-generation 2018 BMW M5 will carry a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing 600 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft of torque. The transmission system will be an eight-speed automatic, and the most important feature will be the new M-specific all-wheel-drive system, called M xDrive. It allows the driver to easily switch the car from an all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive with no traction control. With the normal 4WD mode, the 2018 M5 will be able to hit the 60 mph mark in just 3.2 seconds.
Despite the new all-wheel drive system and improved performance, the 2018 BMW M5 will still weigh almost the same as the outgoing model.
Talking about the interior, the 2018 M5 will boast all leather seating and two unique red colored switches located on the M Sport steering column allowing switching between drive modes. On the outside, the large bumper with air intakes, sculpted hood, sharp character lines and the standard 19-inch wheels, add an overall sporty look to the sedan.
The price will start from €117,900 in Germany. Presently, we cannot confirm when it will arrive here in the UAE, but we do know it will reach the US in the first quarter of next year.
