Genesis on Wednesday introduced a new Genesis Google Assistant app that allows the driver to control their car’s functions remotely through voice commands. For instance, the driver can send destination details to the car’s GPS navigation, remotely turn on the car and set the climate control, turn on/off the lights or lock and unlock the doors.
The new Genesis app works with Google Assistant and can be integrated with the Genesis Connected Services package. The driver would have to supply a secret pin code before he or she can send voice commands to the car. All Genesis vehicles feature Genesis Connected Service with three complementary years of services and after that charges are applied.
Genesis has been working on a number of connected car features for some time and has recently introduced some of them as well. The automaker introduced an app a few months back allowing the driver to control certain functions in their car via a smart watch. Moreover, Genesis has also launched an augmented reality owner’s manual called ‘Genesis Virtual Guide’ that provides information about different parts of the car by just scanning them with the smartphone.
More details about the Genesis Google Assistant app will be revealed when the automaker carries out the demos at WIRED Store in Santa Monica, California from August 23rd to September 4th.
