The 2018 BMW M5 is finally debuting on August 21st. The Bavarian automaker has released a teaser video providing us with a quick look at the much-anticipated performance sedan.

We already know quite a bit about the 2018 BMW M5 including powertrain specifications. It will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine, developing 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The engine will most likely be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission to give the M5 a boost to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. It may come with the drift mode.

Besides the sturdy engine, the BMW M5 will be equipped with a highly advanced xDrive all-wheel drive system, allowing the driver to switch between all-wheel and rear-wheel drive modes with just a push of a button. Other performance upgrades will include carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-fiber reinforced plastic on the body, dual exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. The use of carbon-fiber will greatly reduce the overall weight of the 2018 M5 and will improve the aerodynamics.

We don’t know much about the sedan’s interior or tech features, so we have to wait for a few more days for the BMW M5’s debut ceremony.
