The redesigned 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT was officially revealed at the Chicago Auto Show. With a number of new updates, the price of the hatchback has also been increased by $550 compared to the 2017 Elantra GT.
Talking about the exterior updates, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT boasts a lowered and wider stance, plus LED daytime running lights, which make it appear sporty. The storage capacity behind rear seats has been increased and is now 25 cubic feet. On the inside, the 2018 Elantra GT features an eight-inch touch display with smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Customers can also opt for additional equipment at an extra cost, such as dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging and more.
Under the hood, the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT carries a 2.0L four-cylinder unit developing 162 horsepower and 150 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, but an automatic transmission is also available for an additional $1,000. The more powerful Elantra GT Sport trim sports a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which produces 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft of torque.
The price of the standard Elantra GT starts at $20,235 including destination, whereas the Sport trim costs $24,135.
