The all-new 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom was revealed in London yesterday promising an unmatched luxury, ride comfort and an exceptional driving experience.
The new Rolls-Royce Phantom rides on a newly designed aluminum spaceframe, dubbed as “Architecture of Luxury”. It is lighter, offers enhanced stability and is technologically advanced compared to the outgoing structure. In fact, Rolls-Royce claims that the rigidity of the architecture has been improved by 30 percent. The spaceframe will also underpin more Rolls-Royce vehicles in the future including its first SUV model.
Powering the 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom will be a new twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V-12 engine, which will develop 563 horsepower and 664 pounds-feet of torque. The unit is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transfers the power to the rear-wheels.
It also extends a self-leveling air suspension system, which uses stereo cameras to determine the road condition ahead, consequently adjusting the suspension system for a smooth drive on a rough landscape.
In addition, the new Rolls-Royce Phantom renders state-of-the-art tech features such as a 7.3-inch heads up display with navigation system, Wi-Fi capability and an entertainment system. It also offers latest safety features including a surround-view camera, night vision, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and more.
It will go on sale next year wearing a price tag of £400,000 approximately.
