It is no secret that Audi is working on its first all-electric crossover, as the automaker itself showcased the concept in 2015. However, recently the Audi E-Tron Quattro Electric crossover has been spied for the first time testing somewhere in Europe, wearing a heavy disguise.
The front fascia of the Audi E-Tron Quattro looks similar to the concept shown two years back. It sports a hexagonal grille along with sharp LED headlights which are similar to those found in the new Audi A8. The grille pattern of the concept featured horizontal slats, whereas the spied model’s grille has vertical bars. Moreover, the hood vents have been removed in the spied model.
From the sides, the Audi E-Tron Quattro prototype looks identical to the concept. At the back, a raked rear window stretches from the roof to the tailgate. The full-width taillights have been replaced with simpler ones.
The Audi E-Tron Quattro Electric will be equipped with a 95 kWh battery offering a range of up to 311 miles (500 kilometers). The battery could be fully recharged in just 50 minutes. Regarding the powertrain, Audi stated that the concept was powered by three electric motors which together produced 429 horsepower. More details will be revealed close to the electric crossover’s launch date.
