The new 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS prototype has been spied testing at the Nurburgring Norschleife wearing very less camouflage, which indicates that the production model will arrive soon. Guys should remember the record made by 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS.
Talking about the design, the 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS prototype looks different from standard 718 Boxster. Up front, the GTS can be seen wearing a new bumper along with a lip spoiler underneath it. We can also spot a rear diffuser. Moreover, we can find the red brake calipers with cross-drilled front brakes.
The 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS is reported to carry a new 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-4 cylinder engine, ditching the previous model’s 3.4L unit. The engine specs are currently unknown, but since the regular Boxster S delivers 350 horsepower, the GTS model may churn out between 365 and 375 ponies.
Besides an upgraded engine, the automaker is also expected to add additional performance equipment such as an improved chassis or an active suspension management system. The transmission system will most likely be a speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or both.
The official debut of the new 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS will take place later this year at the 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show.
