The Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup was first revealed last year in the concept form, and now it has officially been launched.

The Mercedes X-Class is based on the Nissan Navara’s chassis-on-frame body, as both companies are currently collaborating with each other. On the outside, the X-Class features the signature LED lighting and a large front grille. It has a payload capacity of 2,297 pounds and could tow up to 7,000 pounds.

The new X-Class will be available in three versions; Pure, Progressive, and Power. The Pure grade is the base model with basic amenities, while the Power grade is for those who prefer high-end luxury equipment.

The tailgate opens at 90 degrees, but can be further extended to 180 degrees by removing the rear bumper. Furthermore, it has a rear bed lighting and a high-mounted stop light.

The Mercedes X-Class pickup will be available in a number of engine options including the base 2.3L four cylinder diesel and the V6 diesel unit developing 258 horsepower. The engine can be paired with either seven-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission system.

The interior will sport an array of luxury features including leather seats and advanced safety equipment such as lane-keep assist, active emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and a 360-degree camera.
