The new 2017 Honda Civic Type R TCR Racer has been revealed, and will be soon spotted on the racetracks. The Honda Civic Type R is converted to a race car by the Italian motor racing team – JAS Motorsport and will perform at the TCR Racer International Series.

The Motorsport version of the Civic Type R features a number of new design components including a new paint job, a massive front splitter, fender flares and a huge rear wing. All these components not only enhance the look of the Type R, but also improve the aerodynamics.

It has also received a wider stance to support a new multilink rear suspension and an anti-roll bar system. The powertrain would carry the same 2.0L turbocharged in-line 4 cylinder, but the engine control unit has been tweaked for an increased power output. Complete power specifications will be disclosed in the coming months.

The first example of the Honda Civic Type R TCR Racer will be delivered on 15th December, 2017. The first 25 units will be built before the start of the 2018 season of TCR Racer International Series. A new variant for endurance racing will also be available with additional equipment such as ABS, driver cooling system and more.

No word on the price yet, but the standard Type R carries a price tag of $34,775, which means the motorsport version will definitely fetch more price.
