Nissan has finally revealed through its Twitter account that the world premiere of the next-generation 2018 Nissan Leaf will take place on September 6, 2017.

Along with the announcement, the automaker also revealed a teaser image of what appears to be the front grille of the 2018 Nissan Leaf. It seems to have a textured pattern and a chrome surrounding with the Nissan logo in the middle. We have already seen the spy shots of the new Leaf although it was covered in disguise.

Reports suggest that the 2018 Nissan Leaf will borrow elements such as the V-Motion grille and the floating roof design from the Nissan IDS concept car which was unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show. The 2018 Leaf will also feature advanced technologies including the Nissan’s ProPilot self-driving functionality.

The current Nissan Leaf in the market has a range of 107 miles and lacks behind its competitors such as Chevrolet Bolt EV and the Tesla Model 3. However, with the new Leaf, the automaker will surely give a hard time to the competitors as it is believed to boast a range between 200 and 250 miles.

The Nissan Leaf has remained the best-selling electric car in the world and with the new model, the automaker is expected to further improve its sales chart.
