Aston Martin along with Williams Advanced Engineering is building a phenomenal electric, high-performance sedan, Aston Martin RapidE. It will be on the roads by 2019.

The Aston Martin RapidE will be based on the Rapide AMR concept, which was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show this year. However, the RapideE will not use the 6.0L V12 engine found in the Rapide S, instead the automaker will provide it with a fully-electric powertrain. The powertrain specifications are unknown yet, but rumors indicate it will churn out more than 1,000 horsepower.

Reports also suggest the RapidE will have a range of up to 200 miles boasting a low weight for improved performance and aerodynamics.

The Aston Martin RapidE concept was originally displayed back in 2015. Initially, the Chinese tech giant LeEco was also a part of the development team, however they pulled out recently due to the lack of funds. This resulted in Aston Martin creating the RapidE as a limited-edition model.

Only 155 units of the RapidE will be built worldwide and each will cost around 200,000 British pounds (approximately $255,000).

Expect the Aston Martin RapidE to arrive by 2019. More details regarding the powertrain and performance figures will be revealed in the coming months.
