The 2017 Mazda CX-9 recently underwent the safety test by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and has earned the Top Safety Pick+ award. The SUV earned ‘good’ rating in all the crashworthiness tests including small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. Moreover, the headlights were rated as ‘acceptable’.

The 2017 Mazda CX-9 has been redesigned in terms of safety features and the deployment pattern of the side curtain airbags has been improved to ensure maximum safety during a front or side crash. Additionally, it offers an optional front-crash prevention system, which includes a forward collision warning. This has allowed the CX-9 to score an overall ‘Superior’ rating in the front-crash test.

The standard safety features on the base model of the 2017 CX-9 include airbag system, 4-wheel ABS, brake assist, electronic stability control, anti-theft alarm system, engine immobilizer, dynamic stability control and more. The range-topping Touring model adds some more safety features such as blind spot Monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive front lighting, lane-departure warning, cruise control with smart brake support and lane keep assist.

The price of the base model starts at $32,460, while the Touring grade carries a price tag of $36,910. The pricing details for the UAE market has not been announced yet.
