The 2018 Ford Mustang is due to arrive soon featuring some major cosmetic as well as mechanical updates. We already know about some updates such as the addition of a power digital cluster and a 10-speed transmission system. Thanks to the folks at CJ Pony Parts, we also got to know recently that the 2018 Ford Mustang GT grade will have a higher 7,500 rpm redline.
The 2018 Ford Mustang GT will be powered by an updated 5.0L V8 engine, which will include a direct injection system along with an upgraded exhaust system. Although we are aware about the higher RPM redline, the power output of the V8 unit still remains a mystery. Also, the automaker will reportedly ditch the 6-speed automatic transmission system for a new 6-speed manual.
Another interesting feature in the 2018 Ford Mustang is the pulsating backlit engine starter button. As the driver unlocks the doors and prepares to start the ignition, the engine start button could be seen flashing at 30 beats per minute. This is to mimic the average resting heart rate of an adult mustang horse.
The automaker has not yet revealed the pricing details, neither we know about the official debut of the 2018 Ford Mustang.
