Till now we have only seen the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in the concept form, but now the automaker has revealed a prototype at Monaco during the Art of Living Lifestyle event. Reports indicate it closely resembles the production model. The Aston Martin’s brand ambassador Serena Williams was also present at the event.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie is being developed by the automaker in collaboration with Red Bull Racing (Formula One racing team). It will carry a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated Cosworth V12 engine paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission system built exclusively by Ricardo. The official performance specs have not been disclosed, but rumors suggest the hypercar will churn out up to 1,000 horsepower.
Comparing the previous concept forms with the prototype, we can see it features some updates such as upgraded headlights, windshield wiper, enhanced front wheel arches and some additional aero components.
The overall weight of the car is expected to be around 1,000 kg and if it does offer a power output of 1,000 hp, the power to weight ratio of the Valkyrie will be 1:1.
The automaker will build only 175 examples of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar out of which 25 will be track-only models. The official debut will take place sometime next year.
