The new Porsche 911 GT2 RS prototype was spotted a couple of days back test driving on a track, and now the automaker has officially revealed the car during the Microsoft Xbox E3 2017 Press Conference.
At the conference, Microsoft was going to unveil the upcoming Forza Motorsport 7 and since the Porsche 911 GT2 RS was on the front cover of the game, the automaker took advantage of the moment and revealed the sports car alongside the game.
Porsche didn’t reveal much about the 911 GT2 RS specs, but we already know it will be powered by a 3.8L twin-turbo engine, which is also present in the 911 Turbo S. However, the engine has been modified with larger turbos and the boost has been increased as well to deliver up to 700 horsepower.
With this powertrain, the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS will be able to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in less than three seconds, while the top speed will be limited to around 205 mph. The engine will be paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission.
More details will be uncovered officially by Porsche in the coming days.
