Recently, at the Seoul Motor Show, Hyundai and KIA announced that they will collaborate to develop a dedicated electric vehicle platform. For 2018, KIA-Hyundai have a number of vehicles lined up including the KIA Niro Plug-in hybrid, KIA Niro EV, KIA Stonic EV, Hyundai IONIC Plug-in Hybrid etc. Now, another electric vehicle is going to be introduced, dubbed as Hyundai Electric Kona.

The Hyundai Electric Kona crossover is reported to carry a much larger 50 Kwh battery boasting a range of up to 217 miles. The teaser images reveal it adopts a futuristic design profile featuring full-LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, a roof mounted spoiler at the back and sporty alloy wheels. The cabin details have not been unveiled yet, but we expect some latest technologies including a heads-up display (HUD).

Earlier, Hyundai announced that the company will launch a 200 miles EV by 2018 and most of us believed that a longer-range Ioniq electric will be launched. However, now it is confirmed that the automaker was actually referring to the new Hyundai Kona.

We don’t know yet, when KIA will debut this crossover.
