Honda is launching the 2018 Honda Accord very soon, and reports from autonews.com indicate that the automaker has ditched the optional V-6 engine. For the first time, a new turbocharged engine will be offered.

The 2018 Honda Accord will be available in two engine choices; turbocharged in-line four cylinder 1.5L and a 2.0L unit. The 1.5L engine is the same as available in the Honda Civic and CR-V. It delivers up to 206 horsepower in the new Honda Civic Si, but we are not sure how much power will it produce in the new Accord. The 2.0L engine is similar to the one found in Civic Type R and it churns out 306 horsepower.

Both the engines can be coupled with a six-speed manual transmission system. On the other hand, those who prefer automatic, the 1.5L engine can be paired with a CVT, while the 2.0L mill can be mated to a 10-speed transmission system.

The 2018 Honda Accord is also believed to ride on a new platform and adopt some of the styling components from the new Civic fastback.

More details regarding the new Accord will be uncovered by Honda in the coming weeks. We are currently not sure when it will make its official debut here in the Middle East.
