The all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is due to arrive soon in the Middle East and besides boasting a new and upgraded powertrain and cosmetic changes, it will also feature a new and advanced ‘Terrain Management System’. The Terrain Management System enabled by a new dual-mode transfer case ensures swift performance on all sorts of terrains.
The dual-mode transfer case distributes power efficiently between front and rear wheels enabling Raptor to traverse smoothly both on-road and off-road. It also offers a clutch-based on-demand system encompassing an all-weather mode for an ideal performance on some of the most challenging off-road environments.
Under the hood, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has a powerful EcoBoost engine paired with a non-sequential 10-speed transmission system delivering 421 PS and 678 Nm of torque.
The engineers at Ford calibrated the 4×4 auto system to match road surface conditions and the environment it is being driven on. Selecting the ‘Weather Mode’ adjusts the drive to match slippery driving surface, while mud/sand mode is ideal for loose or soft ground.
Although the Terrain Management System uses default 4×4 settings, drivers can alter the settings manually to get their desired driving experience.
