Nissan has officially revealed the first teaser image of its upcoming 2018 Nissan Leaf electric car. Although the images only show the headlight of the new Leaf, we have already caught it a few times before, testing somewhere on the roads.
The headlight shown in the teaser image features LED projection lamps. From what we saw in the spy shots, the 2018 Nissan Leaf takes a lot of its design cues such as the V-Motion grille and floating roof from the Nissan IDS Concept Car which was unveiled in 2015 at the Tokyo Auto Show.
The current Nissan Leaf in the market has a range of up to 107 miles, which makes it less competitive compared to the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the forthcoming Tesla Model 3. The automaker will surely enhance the range in the new model, and reports suggest it will have a range between 200 and 250 miles. Moreover, the new Leaf will also improve the top speed and 0 to 60 mph time in order to compete with the Tesla Model 3 and Chevy Bolt.
Nissan has also hinted on the latest technologies such as ProPilot driver assist system. The 2018 Nissan Leaf will be unveiled later this year. Considering UAE’s government shift toward green cars, this would be a good edition in the segment of all-electric cars.
