Last year, at the ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24-hours (N24), the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 gained a lot of appreciation on its tremendous performance. This year again, the automaker is planning to test the sports car at the Nordschleife circuit, which is going to happen later this month.
To warm up itself, the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 recently participated in a 24-hour qualification race and secured a thrilling victory. Not only that, the Vantage GT8 also showed potential to compete against and beat the Porsche 911 GT3 in a contest.
Driving the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 at the Nordschleife circuit will be Aston Martin Racing’s works drivers, Darren Turner (GB) and Nicki Thiim (DN). Other team members will include Aston Martin N24 regular driver Peter Cate (GB) and Markus Lungstrass (D).
The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is a limited edition sports car launched by the automaker in 2016. It was inspired from the V8 Vantage GTE and was designed by the in-house Advanced Operations team. Powering the Vantage GT8 is a 4.8L naturally aspirated engine delivering 440 bhp and 361 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a seven-speed sequential manual transmission system and allows the Vantage GT8 to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 190 mph.
