The UAE team under the banner “Habibeez” announced their participation at the adventurous Gumball 3000 rally at an event at Café Rider. The five participants of the team unveiled the three cars to be driven during the 3000 mile race from Riga, Latvia to Mykonos, Greece taking place from 1-8 July, 2017.

Pumped with adrenaline, the five team members Sheikh Mohamed Al Thani, Chairman and Co-founder of Musafir.com, along with Mohammed Al Othman, Masoud Mohammed, Raed Zidan and Omar Zidan showcased the models of Rolls Royce Phantom, Mercedes SLR and the Mercedes G63, their respective cars to be used at the rally.

“We are delighted to be representing the UAE at the Gumball 3000 race in Europe this year. With years of rally experience, our team is in elated spirits to bring an enormous wave of excitement to the race,” says Sheikh Mohamed Al Thani, Chairman and Co-founder of Musafir.com.

“This race accommodates participants from a very wide breadth of nationalities and age groups and gives us ample opportunities to showcase UAE’s diverse talents in extracurricular activities. Whether that’s from the sports industry or art, our cars will demonstrate the exceptional potential the youth from the UAE has,” he added.

Also present at the event was the notable award winning Tunisian artist El-Seed, who collaborated with the team to design their cars with a unique design of illustrious calligraphy, depicting a famous verse  by the Tunisian poet Aboul-Qacem Echebbi:

His work has been showcased in several countries worldwide including Paris, London, Cairo and Dubai and a few of his art pieces were on display at the event. In order to promote the UAE culture, the participants will wear the traditional Emirati attire during the rally, differentiating themselves from other participants.

Now in its 19th year, Gumball 3000 is the ultimate aspiration adventure road trip where each year 250 carefully selected entrants in 120 incredible cars (everything from Bugattis to Batmobiles) drive a 3000 mile route over 7 days. Across multiple countries (and some years, continents) each day creates the world’s most incredible car show along with concerts, art displays fashion shows, sports displays and more. This year, the route entails the cities of Riga, Warsaw, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Tirana, Athens and Mykonos.
