The exclusive distributors of well-known Japanese brands, Toyota, Lexus and Hino, and pioneers of introducing sustainable mobility in the UAE, Al-Futtaim Motors delivered first Lexus ES 350 hybrid to Dubai Police, depicting their commitment in achieving green sustainable economy as per UAE’s Vision 2021. They also persuaded Dubai Police to test drive the hydrogen powered Toyota Mirai in an effort to support UAE Vision 2021’s sustainable environment initiatives.
At this ostentatious occasion, dignitaries from both partners showed immense pleasure and excitement in moving toward a green, more environment friendly patrolling fleet. They also acknowledged UAE’s governments initiatives like establishing nature reserve in Ras-Al-Khor, planting of one million trees in Dubai, increased emphasis on hybrids and green cars in General HQ, installing new equipment and boats to preserve and improve marine environment, and enforcing law to maintain vehicles properly, thus ensuring lower carbon emissions and a cleaner environment.
Testing of revolutionary Toyota Mirai in Dubai was a ground-breaking event, as the vehicle is more environment friendly than current generation hybrids. The Mirai doesn’t need to be charged through an electrical grid rather it generates its own electricity using Hydrogen fuel cells, which can power it through 500+kms.
