The 2018 BMW M5, reportedly arriving by the end of this year, has been caught a number of times test driving, so we have a pretty good idea how it would look like. However, recent reports indicate it will also have a ‘Drift Mode’ similar to the Mercedes-AMG 63. The drift mode directs more power to the rear wheels for an enhanced drifting experience.
Talking about the exterior design, the 2018 BMW M5 will feature new 20-inch five-spoke wheels covered in jet black paint with silver accents. It will also include a new body paint called ‘Marina Bay Blue’. An Instagram account, ‘Abu Dhabi Motors’ has also caught the M5 at a display in South Korea.
Powering the 2018 BMW M5 will be a 4.4L turbocharged V8 engine, which will produce more than 600 horsepower and will allow the sports sedan to go from standstill to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Also, the new BMW M5 will render three selectable driving modes; all-wheel drive, all-wheel-drive sport and 100-percent rear-wheel-drive system.
More details will be revealed by the automaker prior to the M5’s debut.
