The British automaker has introduced a new Special Edition Lotus Exige Cup 380 for consumers, however unfortunately it won’t be arriving in North America and Middle Eastern markets.
The Lotus Exige Cup 380 boasts some impressive weight-cutting techniques that reduced the weight to 2,330 pounds (1,057 kilograms). It is powered by a similar 3.5L supercharged V6 engine found in the Exige Sport 380 that yields 375 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque. With this unit, the Exige Cup 380 could go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 282 km/h.
The reduced body-weight combined with carbon fiber components improve the downforce of the sports car by 43 percent compared to the Exige Sport 380. Moreover, the rear tires are also wider than the Exige Sport 380’s 285 mm wheels.
Customers can also opt for the additional carbon fiber interior features such as inner door panels, HVAC console and vent surround further reducing the weight of the car by 1 kg.
Lotus will build only 60 examples of the Exige Cup 380 and they will be sold exclusively in Europe. Each unit will cost somewhat between $106,000 and $118,000.
