After the launch of Bicycle Patrol Service to increase response time in emergency situations, Dubai police has taken another initiative by introducing 4WD dune buggies to create a safe environment for the tourists on the beaches.

According to Lt. Colonel Mubarik Benawas, Head of Tourist Police, the 4WD vehicles have been launched by the General Department of Tourism at Dubai Police with the aim of providing increased security for tourists. The police patrol on the 4WD dune buggies will also look after the possessions of tourists.

Lieutenant Ahmed Al Muhairi who is the acting head of the Travel Programmes Department said that every vehicle will be containing a first aid kit, two extra chairs and a large cabin to carry the possessions. He said that by assisting tourists we will reinforce the traditional impression of Dubai.

The cycling patrol service was launched by general department of search and rescue at Dubai police in March to help tourists in emergency situations in remote areas. The bicycles were equipped with first aid kits and different tools for interaction.
