The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is expected to arrive in the market soon, as the automaker has begun the testing procedures. The spy photographers have caught the 911 GT2 RS being tested on the Nurburgring track as well as on the nearby roads.
Talking about the design, the prototype seems to be sporting a new front bumper, however we can still see some cover on the outer ends. We can see air ducts on the hood, which not only help in keeping the engine cool, but also improve the downforce. At the back, it includes a new rear bumper and a diffuser as well as large exhaust tips. A rear spoiler might also be present in the production model.
The powertrain specifications are not known currently, but some reports indicate the Porsche 911 GT2 RS might boast an upgraded version of the current 911 Turbo S’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six cylinder unit or a 4.0L flat-six turbo engine present in the GT3, GT3 RS, and 911R. The power output will be somewhat between 620 and 700 horsepower, and the engine will be mated to a PDK transmission system.
The automaker has not yet confirmed the debut date, but we can expect the 911 GT2 RS to launch within the next 12 months.
