To mark the International Day of Happiness, The Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Police has taken the initiative to cut down the traffic fines in half. This move, however, is effective for just a single day, that is the 20th of March, aiming to bring happiness to the community.
By cutting down the traffic fines of erring drivers, the RAK police promotes peace and happiness. This action was probably inspired by the Umm Al Quwain Police Department that announced to offer 50% discount on traffic fines yesterday.
The RAK Police desires to motivate traffic violators to get rid of their impending traffic dues and obtain their confiscated vehicles at half price of the original fine.
It is not the first time the RAK Police took such an initiative to encourage traffic violators paying their dues immediately. Such a move was also incurred in 2014, when they decided to reduce 50% of the original fines, but for a longer period of time.
The northern emirate sees quite a lot of petty traffic violators, who tend to get more irresponsible by the day. With this motive, not only would the public get a sense of responsibility, but would also be far more eager to pay half their owed dues if they’re caught erring today on the road.
