The performance oriented Hyundai i30 N is scheduled to launch across Europe later this year, and the automaker has begun carrying out final testing procedures. In the latest teaser video, the Hyundai i30 N is seen cruising around somewhere in snow, wearing a heavy disguise.
The Hyundai i30 N is being developed under the guidance of former BMW M engineering boss Albert Biermann. It will carry a turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder engine producing 246 horsepower. The range-topping sportier variant will deliver up to 271 horsepower. Initially, the Hyundai i30 N will be offered with a manual gearbox, however a dual clutch unit will also arrive sometime in 2018.
The front-wheel drive will be standard, while an all-wheel drive variant might be introduced later. One of the developed prototypes have also performed at the 2016 Nürburgring 24 Hours and secured a 90th position.
Once launched, the i30 N will go head to head with the likes of Volkswagen Golf GTI, the Honda Civic Si and the Ford Focus ST.
The current testing phase is focused toward the Hyundai i30 N’s ESC (Electronic Stability Control), LSD (Limited Slip Differential), steering, dampers, suspension and tires.
We currently don’t know whether the i30 N will arrive in the UAE or not.
