The first ever hybrid SUV by Acura is due to arrive soon and it is definitely faster and more powerful than the rest of the vehicles in the lineup. Titled as the 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid, it carries a 3.0L V6 engine paired with three electric motors. This whole system generates a total output of 321 horsepower and 289 lb.-ft of torque. The drivetrain is seven-speed dual clutch.
Compared to the current MDX SH-AWD, the 2017 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid delivers 31 more horsepower and a 45 percent higher EPA rating. Naturally, it also costs $1,500 higher than the MDX SH-AWD. The new MDX Sport Hybrid boasts a phenomenal three-motor Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, which is also present in the NSX supercar as well as the RLX sedan.
Additionally, it will feature an advanced Electro Servo braking system, Active Damper technology, and an expanded-range Integrated Dynamics System along with latest safety features such as collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and road departure mitigation.
The MDX Sport Hybrid will arrive this April and will be available in two packages – a Technology package which will cost $52,935 and an Advanced package starting from $58,975. We currently don’t have any information regarding its arrival in the Middle East.
