The first SUV by the Maybach is here, positioned at the top of the Mercedes G-Class lineup. Titled as the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet, the SUV made its debut recently at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show.
The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 unit which delivers 621 bhp and 738 pound-feet of torque. The engine fitted in the AMG G65 also offers the same power output.
Moreover, it borrowed some characteristics from the Mercedes G550 4×4² including upgraded fenders made from carbon fiber elements and revised portal axles, which offer 18-inch ground clearance.
Talking about the design, the G650 Landaulet incorporates a semi-convertible roof structure, which looks similar to the Maybach 62 Landaulet introduced in 2007.
The cabin extends luxurious leather seats, which can be adjusted electronically. The rear seats are borrowed from the Mercedes S-Class and include a hot-stone massage option. The front dash features a latest infotainment system with two 10-inch monitors.
The automaker has not revealed any performance details, but reports indicate that the G650 Landaulet can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.3 seconds. Only 99 examples of the SUV will be built worldwide and the pricing details have not been announced yet.
