Pininfarina has developed a new luxury concept electric sedan dubbed as the Pininfarina Hybrid Kinetic H600, in collaboration with the Chinese startup Hybrid Kinetic. The vehicle is currently up for display at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show.
Talking about Hybrid Kinetic, it is a Chinese company, which made headlines in 2010 after it revealed its plans to start the production of hybrid vehicles in Montgomery, Alabama. The company also previewed a concept called ‘Quaranta’, but it went silent afterwards due to internal issues.
Nevertheless, Hybrid Kinetic is back and along with Pininfarina, it has introduced this new H600 electric sedan concept which features a remarkable hybrid engine delivering up to 800 horsepower, which could take it to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.9 seconds and all the way to 155 mph (250 km/h). The Pininfarina Hybrid Kinetic H600 can cover 620 miles with range-extending turbine engine.
Hybrid Kinetic is behind the production of the hybrid powertrain for H600 concept. The company states that the turbine design is less than half the size of a regular internal combustion unit. The turbine can also run using other fuels including diesel, gasoline and hydrogen.
